Babe with the Power Shoot

At Clear Hearts it’s all about the unusual, quirky and inclusive. When Anna of Lucky Sixpence Bridal asked me to style a shoot named “the babe with the power” I knew this was a shoot I had to say yes to.

Anna had a vision of Pagan and gorgeous witchy vibes with a California spin. This bride is feeling the energy of the 14th Century Salmestone grange in Margate.

This cape was made by Born to Thread who I’ve had the pleasure of working with before and we did a “Spotlight on” blog a few weeks ago. The drama of it was perfect for this and teamed with the pure white tassled number from Lucky Sixpence Bridal and House of Elliot boots added an element of modernity to the images. The septum ring from Alice Ruby studio added magic to the close ups. I was so impressed with the Seeker jewellery such as the ring worn by Fern that my husband bought me a piece for Christmas, stunning.

Our model Fern Watling feels a strong connection to the spiritual and the venue (she herself was married here). The shiny hair with lots of movement styled by meraki hair was complemented by Jodi of Mc Fayden Millinery’s beautiful crown and veil.  The dewy and earthy makeup fit the theme perfectly and was done by the delightful Sasha Prebble MUA.

Sourcing items for this shoot came in the form of foraging in local open spaces, borrowing and searching London shops for crystal balls and magical crockery aswell as spray painting cutlery. It was a wonderful open brief that let me embrace the witchy vibes of 2017/2018. The amazing bread (which I’m sure you’re all going to neeeed for your next event) is by Modern provider, seen above in the beautifully crafted baskets by La Basketry. Gorgeous spells, stones and sage sticks came from She’s Lost Control. Fabulous candy apples from Naughty Floss as well as Candy Floss made on site!

Photographer Phil of Grey Fox Photography captured the vibe and the styling with his usual flair. I had some great items to work with from Witch Baby Soap such as their super fun tarot card soaps featured below with some gorgeous smelling candles from Mama Moon Candles.

The day was full of fun and laughter all being captured by lovely local artist, Megan, of House of Love Illustration who was doing live sketches. Esme Deacon will be providing some video so viewers can see the styling in motion and maybe some sneak peaks behind the scenes.
